Where to Ask First
For local custody and sheriff records, start with the Craig County Sheriff's Office and Jail. The office is located at 210 W. Delaware Ste. 101, Vinita, OK 74301. The main jail and non-emergency number is (918) 256-6466, fax is 918.256.7351, and the public office hours listed in the research are Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM.
The sheriff's records policy says most requests must be made in person and in writing under the Oklahoma Open Records Act, with the requester's name, contact details, and a clear record description. Jail booking reports and accident reports may be requested by email, while phone, fax, U.S. Mail, and most email requests are not accepted for other record types.
- For someone held at the county jail, use the jail inmate records page and then call the jail if the roster does not answer the question.
- For booking photos and daily booking report details, use jail roster mugshots.
- For charges filed after an arrest, start with court records after a jail arrest, then use OSCN, ODCR, or the Craig County Court Clerk.
- For a specific detention location, use the facility pages listed in the footer for Craig County Jail and Northeast Oklahoma Community Corrections Center.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, search the Oklahoma Department of Corrections offender lookup or VINELink instead of the county jail roster.
- For federal custody or immigration detention, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator System.
